THE PREDICTION
Kevin Anderson was up against it from the off in his Vienna Open semi-final match with eventual champion Andrey Rublev before he was forced to retire through a thigh injury. The big South African was in excellent form in Vienna, though, and beat Daniil Medvedev on how way to that semi-final that saw him shoot back up the ATP rankings after a long injury setback. However, injuries are, sadly, likely to be the story of the rest of Anderson’s career and this match may not yet go ahead with Laslo Djere. The Serb recently won his second ATP title at the Sardinia Open last month but he lost to Anderson in the French Open prior to that which gives some clue to how this should turn out if Anderson is fit enough to play. The South African can extend a 2-0 head-to-head record over Djere here but it is worth holding off on this match until it is confirmed.
