THE PREDICTION
This should be a fantastic match between the old guard Marin Cilic and next gen star Felix Auger-Aliassime. The Croatian former world number three won their only previous meeting at last year’s Citi Open in straight sets but the Canadian had lost some form around that time and that does not seem to be the case in 2020. Despite a loss to compatriot Vasek Pospisil last week in Vienna, Auger-Aliassime has performed well since the re-start to the season and became an ATP finalist for the sixth time when he lost to Alexander Zverev at the first of two ATP 250 events in Cologne. 32-year-old Cilic, on the other hand, lost to Steve Johnson last time out and is in some poor form by his standards. It could be a matter of tiebreaks against the Croatian’s hefty serve but Auger-Aliassime can come through here in straight-sets.
