Slovenia’s Aljaz Bedene can boast that he was one of just two players to best the electrifying Lorenzo Sonego at last week’s Vienna Open, albeit in the qualifiers. However, Bedene was forced to retire from a match he was about to lose to Dan Evans in the first round and his fitness will come into question here against a player who will keep him running. Milos Raonic will be the tenth seed here in Paris and beat Bedene in straight-sets as recently as the first round of the European Open almost two weeks ago. There is nothing to suggest anything has changed since and if the match is completed it should be Raonic’s victory in two to progress to the next round.
