THE PREDICTION
32-year-old Albert Ramos-Vinolas became the victim of Belgian wildcard Zizou Bergs at the recent European Open, losing to the player ranked outside 500 in front of an adoring Belgian crowd in Antwerp in straight-sets. The Spaniard has been in fairly miserable form since the re-start pf the tennis season, with two wins over French players Adrian Mannarino and Corentin Moutet his only notable successes, but the world number 46 always puts in the effort. He looks set to come unstuck, however, against American qualifier Marcos Giron who has been enjoying some breakthrough success of late and reached the quarter-finals of the European Open himself. Giron came through some tricky qualifying matches against Roberto Carballes Baena and Laslo Djere and can take that momentum into the second round with a win here.
