Milos Raonic is often underrated when it comes to his clay-court game as, despite his big-serving approach being better suited to faster surfaces, he has reached the semi-finals here in Rome before, as well as two quarter-finals in Madrid and a quarter-final at the French Open. His opponent Dusan Lajovic on the other hand is more suited to the slower surface and he is generally a solid player from both wings from the back of the court. This contrast in styles should serve up an interesting second-round encounter here and we’re just edging Raonic to sneak this one given that the Canadian has been in far better form post-lockdown. It could well take a deciding set, but the Canadian is tipped to edge into the third round.
