Stefano Travaglia made it through to the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career by outlasting Kei Nishikori in an epic five-setter on Wednesday and his reward is a meeting with the 12-time champion. Nadal put in an utterly dominant display in his own dismissal of Mackenzie McDonald as he lost just four games on his way to victory and the Spaniard looks as if he has adapted well to the conditions in Paris and is finding his rhythm on his beloved red dirt. Travaglia has been playing some of the best tennis of his career over the past few weeks and is also well-suited to clay given the spin he generates on his groundstrokes, but Nadal is simply a level above and will have too much for the Italian. Another straight-sets win is in the offing for the world number two.
