THE PREDICTION
6th-seed Alexander Zverev was pushed all the way by Pierre-Hugues Herbert on Wednesday as he was taken to five sets by the Frenchman but he lives to fight another day and this could well be another testing encounter against the potentially dangerous Marco Cecchinato, who looks to be playing his best tennis for some time after a troublesome 12 months. The Italian came through three rounds of qualifying without dropping a set, and then impressed in victories over Alex de Minaur (straight sets) and Juan Ignacio Londero (four sets) so he is primed to attack Zverev here. The US Open finalist should have it in his locker to withstand the pressure though, and although it may not be routine as it rarely is with Zverev in the early rounds of Grand Slams, he should reach the fourth round nonetheless.
