THE PREDICTION
Two big names in the men’s game do battle here in what promises to be a blockbuster fourth-round match, with both seeking a first career quarter-final at Roland-Garros. Dimitrov’s progress has been rather serene so far with straight-set wins over Gregoire Barrere and Andrej Martin followed by a forfeit win over Roberto Carballes Baena, who retired injured after being two sets to love down. Tsitsipas also benefitted from a retirement in the third round and has improved with each game after having fought back from two sets down against Jaume Munar in the first round. These two have surprisingly never met on tour before so this match is something of an unknown, but a slew of forehand winners and plenty of athleticism on both sides of the court are to be expected. The consistency of Dimitrov’s dangerous backhand could be the key here, but picking a winner looks to be a flip of the coin.
