THE PREDICTION
Kei Nishikori and Pablo Andujar last faced each other at the Rogers Cup back in 2015 and the Japanese star leads a healthy 4-1 head-to-head record with the Spaniard overall. 30-year-old Nishikori had a difficult time of ot at the recent French Open, his last tournament, winning a first round five-set match before losing in the second round having gone the distance again. In fact, other than his opening Roland-Garros win over Dan Evans – a match that looked for much of the time that it might go the other way – Nishikori has been out of form since the restart of the season. A return from injury excuses much of this, of course, but he would still be expected to beat Andujar here on the hard courts of Antwerp. His form suggests this could go to a decider in a choppy match but Nishikori should come through eventually.
