A clinical Taylor Townsend moved into the final of the ATX Open courtesy of a 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 triumph over compatriot Ashlyn Krueger in the semi-finals.
Townsend locked in at the crucial moments, converting four of her five break point opportunities to reach her first tour-level singles final.
Townsend will face another American in the form of Peyton Stearns, who overcame Australia's Kimberly Birrell in her own last-four contest.
Stearns, chasing her first hard-court WTA title, took three sets to defeat Birrell and served nine double faults along the way, and you have to think that she is unlikely to get away with so many errors on serve against her final opponent.
