Iga Swiatek begins her Wimbledon title defence with a first ever showdown against Taylor Townsend.
The Polish third seed comes in having lost her only warm-up match in Bad Homburg but does have a 24-1 record in first round matches at Grand Slams.
That one defeat did come at Wimbledon back in 2019, but the six-time Major winner is a different proposition nowadays.
