Taylor Townsend & Ben Shelton vs Holger Rune & Amanda Anisimova prediction
Taylor Townsend and Ben Shelton have history when it comes to teaming together for mixed doubles. The American duo were partners two years ago and reached the US Open semi-final together. Townsend in particular is an excellent doubles player, currently ranked number one in the world and has already racked up three doubles titles this season.
Holger Rune and Amanda Anisimova contain significantly less pedigree when it comes to doubles although both have at least competed at a doubles event in a Grand Slam. But the reality is that Townsend and Shelton should be far more in-tune as a team and are expected to get off to a fast start in this one, immediately putting their opponents on the back foot.
It’s well worth backing Townsend and Shelton not just to win this match, but to do so in straight sets over Rune and Anisimova.
