Taylor Fritz continued his progress in Dallas with a straight sets win over Brandon Nakashima. The world number seven produced another strong serving display as he finished with a first serve percentage of 76% and only conceded two break points, which were both subsequently saved as he went on to win 6-3 6-4.

He will now face Sebastian Korda after he beat Frances Tiafoe. Korda recovered from a 4-2 deficit in the first set as he won five of the next six games to go in front. Tiafoe fell away in the second set as the 25-year-old wrapped up a 7-5 6-1 win after just one hour and eight minutes.

Fritz leads the head-to-head 3-1. Their last meeting was at the quarter-final stage of last year’s Japan Open, with the 2024 US Open finalist winning in three sets. Korda will look to extend the rallies and test Fritz’s fitness, but the latter has been serving superbly so far in this event and comes into this match as the clear favourite.
