Taylor Fritz vs Alexander Zverev prediction

Taylor Fritz advanced to the quarter-finals of Wimbledon for the third straight year after beating Alexander Bublik in straight sets on Court One. Fritz had beaten Bublik at the Stuttgart Open a few weeks earlier, and this was another comfortable match for the 28-year-old as he won 7-6 (1) 6-4 6-4. He won 89% of his points on first serve.

He will now take on world number two Alexander Zverev for a place in the last four. Zverev dropped his first set of the tournament but still overcame Jiri Lehecka. The Roland Garros champion won 6-4 7-5 3-6 7-6 (6).

Fritz leads the head-to-head 10-5, 3-2 on grass and has won their last seven meetings. They faced each other at the Halle Open last month, with the American coming from a set down to win. Both players are likely to dominate on serve, and this may be decided in four or five sets. Fritz does have a mental edge after his winning streak against the German, but Zverev has been very consistent this season and is also enjoying his best run at the All England Club.
