Taylor Fritz progressed to the round-of-16 at Wimbledon after a hard-fought four set win over Lorenzo Sonego. Fritz dropped his first set of the tournament as he went behind early on, but he quickly gained control of the match by winning sets two and three. He will now face Alexander Bublik for a place in the quarter-finals. Bublik equalled his best run at Wimbledon after defeating Frances Tiafoe in five sets on Court One. The world number 11 hammered a remarkable 48 aces on his way to winning 4-6 7-6 (5) 7-6 (11) 4-6 6-3 after four hours and eight minutes.
The head-to-head is locked at 4-4, but Fritz does lead 2-0 on grass and has won four of their last five meetings. They played against each other just last month in Stuttgart, with Fritz winning 6-4 6-4 in the semi-finals.
