Taylah Preston vs Diane Parry prediction

Taylah Preston booked her place in the next round of the China Open after beating Tamara Korpatsch in straight sets. The Australian dominated the first set but was pegged back in the second after going a break up on two separate occasions. Nevertheless, she controlled the subsequent tiebreak to complete a 6-2 7-6 (4) win. Preston has won two lower-level titles this season and is up to a career high of 91 in the world. She also advanced to the quarter-finals in Seoul last week.

Her next opponent is Diane Parry. The 24-year-old’s last event was in Guadalajara, but that ended with an opening round defeat to Peyton Stearns. Parry won a tour-level title right at the end of August, following success at the Monterrey Open, and she entered the top 30 of the rankings for the first time in her career.

Parry has produced the better season overall, but Preston’s current hard court form is difficult to ignore.
