Tatjana Maria was in ruthless mode as she once again demonstrated her grasscourt prowess with a thumping win over Anastasia Zakharova.

The Russian was no match for the German veteran on this surface as she swept to a 6-2 6-1 victory.

Maria, who took down top seed Jasmine Paolini earlier in the week, will now gear up for a maiden clash with Tereza Valentova, who has battled past both Hannah Klugman and Ajla Tomljanovic in deciding sets.

The teenage Czech is clearly a talent, but is perhaps yet to truly find consistency on this surface, which may well work in Maria’s favour in this generational match-up.
