Tatjana Maria comes into this match having enjoyed a really positive summer and on the back of a WTA title at Queen’s, not to mention a finals appearance in Newport. However, the 37-year-old you could argue, is stronger on grass compared to a hard court surface and that perhaps opens the door for Laura Siegemund to take advantage.
The last time these two German players faced off on this surface, it was Siegemund who came out on top, winning in three sets, although that match took place all the way back in 2023.
