Tatjana Maria vs Jelena Ostapenko prediction

Tatjana Maria secured a spot in the last four in Eastbourne as her grass-court know-how proved key against Tereza Valentova.

The veteran German was too strong in the big moments as she claimed a 6-3 7-5 success over the Czech teenager.

The world number 112 will now face former champion Jelena Ostapenko for a place in the final after the third seed bagged an eye-catching 6-3 6-0 victory over Zeynep Sonmez.

This will be their second meeting with Maria triumphing on grass at Wimbledon by a 5-7 7-5 7-5 scoreline back in 2022.

The rankings upset is always a good shout here given the recent pedigree of Maria on grass. Jelena is always unpredictable and can run hot out of the blue, which she looks to have done here.

There’s every chance it could go either way, so looking at there being a healthy number of games may be your most prudent option, but if pushed, we do like Tatjana for this one too.
