Tatjana Maria vs Elena Rybakina prediction

Tatjana Maria came back from the brink to defeat number six seed Karolina Muchova in three sets and reach the quarter-finals of Queen’s Club. Maria went a set and 3-0 down but fought back to win 6-7 7-5 6-1. The 37-year-old has now won four matches this week, including qualifying. This was her first victory against a top 20 player since Wimbledon in 2022 and she has now advanced to the last eight of a WTA 500 event or better for the first time since that tournament.

She faces Elena Rybakina in the quarter-finals. Rybakina comfortably defeated home favourite Heather Watson 6-4 6-2 without losing serve and got her grass court season off to the perfect start. Rybakina is in strong form overall, having picked up a title in Strasbourg a few weeks ago and reached the fourth-round in Paris.

They have played on one previous occasion, with the Kazakhstani defeating Maria 7-5 6-0 in the second-round of the China Open in 2023. The German has done well to get to this stage but Rybakina is one of the favourites for the title and should make it through with ease.
