Tallon Griekspoor’s indifferent form has continued on grass, with the Dutchman losing two of his three matches in the warmup events. He competed in Rosmalen and won his first match against compatriot Botic van de Zandschulp, before a loss in the second-round to Zhizheng Zhang. He then suffered a first-round defeat at the Halle Open to Sho Shimabukuro. Other than a run to the final in Dubai, Griekspoor has found it difficult to build any momentum, and he has 15 losses from 26 matches this season. His record at Wimbledon isn’t particularly inspiring either, as he has never progressed beyond the second-round.
James Duckworth is his first-round opponent. The Australian failed to qualify for Queen’s Club or the Eastbourne Open, while he could only progress to the second-round in Stuttgart His best result at Wimbledon since making his main draw debut in 2013 was a third-round appearance eight years later.
Griekspoor has been unconvincing for quite some time, and while he should be able to win this match against Duckworth, the Australian is worth at least a set here.
