Tallon Griekspoor vs Alexander Zverev prediction
Alexander Zverev booked a spot in the last eight in Vienna courtesy of a straight-sets win over Matteo Arnaldi.
The German is a real menace on an indoor hardcourt when he’s in the groove and was too solid for the Italian as he chalked up a 6-4 6-4 triumph.
The second seed now meets Tallon Griekspoor for a place in the last four after the Dutchman came up trumps in a pair of tie-breaks to oust Brandon Nakashima.
This is a match-up that doesn’t really suit Tallon, who trails 8-2 in the head-to-head, but he can point to one of those victories coming earlier this year in Miami. It is also one apiece on an indoor hardcourt so the world number 28 knows he has the capacity to cause the upset.
It will no doubt be a serve-dominated affair and it’s worth exploring the odds of it involving a breaker or two.
Zverev remains the favourite to progress but it’s risky to take a specific punt on just how he will get over the line with both players not as consistent as they were earlier in the 2025 season.
