Tallon Griekspoor competed in Paris but lost in the first-round after a straight sets defeat to Gabriel Diallo. He was coming into the event on the back of an injury which curtailed his involvement in Vienna a week prior, as he had to withdraw from his quarter-final match against world number three Alexander Zverev before it took place. The Dutchman struggled from a dramatic loss of form after winning the Mallorca Championships in July, but he’s still ranked inside the top 30.
He will play Aleksandar Kovacevic. He entered the draw in Paris as a lucky loser and lost in the first-round after a close three set match against Miomir Kecmanovic. The American has got through to two finals on the ATP Tour this season, including an indoor event in Marseille at the start of the year, but his form has been poor for quite some time.
Despite his patchy season, Griekspoor is the commanding favourite to win this one.
