Sydney Roosters have had Cronulla Sharks’ number over the course of this season so far, winning both their regular season encounters and doing so fairly comfortably. But now it’s do or die for both teams and that brings a different level of pressure. The Roosters were taken down by Penrith Panthers in the elimination finals, as they struggled to break through the defence of Ivan Cleary’s side, putting up just 12 points.
Cronulla Sharks got the better of North Queensland Cowboys 26-16 last time out, but this represents a far more difficult assignment. You would imagine that Sydney will come out of the blocks strongly and they have had the better of this Sharks team consistently this year. Expect to see a much-improve offensive display from the Roosters and that should be enough for them to edge out Cronulla over the course of 80 minutes.
