Rising American star Ashlyn Krueger will be aiming for a solid run in Paris to boost her hopes of cracking the top 30 for the first time.

The world number 37 has a 3-4 record on clay this year but will feel confident about her chances of reaching the second round for the first time. 

The 21-year-old has met Suzan Lamens once before and ran out a 7-5 6-0 winner in Brisbane earlier this year. 

The Dutch world number 67 enjoyed a fine run to the last four in Rouen but has flattered to deceive in Madrid, Rome and Strasbourg, winning just one of her last five matches. 

If Lamens can recapture her Rouen form she may have a say here, but Krueger moves well on clay and will feel she can dominate from the baseline.
