Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Novak Djokovic prediction
Stefanos Tsitsipas enjoyed one of his most dominant ever wins at Wimbledon as he thrashed Hugo Gaston in straight sets to book his place in the second-round. The former world number three, who has never bettered his debut run to the round-of-16 in 2018, did not even concede a break point as he won 6-1 6-4 6-2 after just an hour and 31 minutes.
He will reignite his rivalry with 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic in round two after the Serb beat Yibing Wu in four sets. Djokovic was broken when serving to stay in the second set, and he also had to save a number of break points in the fourth as the Chinese player threatened a decider. Djokovic ultimately would get the job done, winning 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-4.
Djokovic leads the head-to-head 12-2, but this is their first match on grass. Djokovic and Tsitsipas played against each other in two Grand Slam finals, the 2021 French Open and 2023 Australian Open, with the former world number one prevailing in both.
Tsitsipas breezed through his first-round match, but he could be on the back foot from the start here, as Djokovic is likely target his weaker backhand side, while the Greek also struggles on return.
