Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Luciano Darderi prediction
Stefanos Tsitsipas suffered his earliest exit at the French Open since 2018 as he lost to Italian qualifier Matteo Gigante in the second-round. It capped off a thoroughly disappointing clay court season for the Greek, who is now outside the world’s top 20. He has brought in Goran Ivanisevic as his new coach and this tournament will be the beginning of their partnership.
Luciano Darderi began his grass court season in Rosmalen at the Libema Open but he lost to Nicolas Jarry in the first-round, going down in three sets despite taking the first. He has picked up a title already this season in Marrakech but that was on a clay court, with Darderi not the most comfortable on grass.
Despite his poor form and grass not being his preferred surface, Tsitsipas will be heavy favourite to win this one and we expect him to do so. We’re backing him to come through in straight sets.
