Stefanos Tsitsipas battled his way through his match against Sebastian Korda, defeating the American 7-6 6-4 in just over an hour and 30 minutes. Despite the close score line in both sets, the Greek did not face a break point in any of his service games though also had trouble in converting the opportunities he created, only taking one of the eight on offer.

He now faces Arthur Fils who made it to a fourth consecutive quarter-final after easily beating Pedro Martinez 6-2 6-3. He was rarely troubled throughout the match, winning 80% of his first serve points, not losing serve and hitting a total of 27 winners.

He has the upper hand over Tsitsipas with the head-to-head, winning their only two encounters in Antwerp and Basel though they’ve never played each other on clay before.

We think this will go three sets, with Fils playing quality tennis at the moment and Tsitsipas used to making deep runs in Barcelona.
