Stefanos Tsitsipas competed for Greece at the United Cup and was unbeaten in all three of his singles matches. He defeated Shintaro Mochizuki and Billy Harris in the round robin stage, before picking up one of his best wins for quite some time as he defeated Taylor Fritz in straight sets. Tsitsipas endured one of the most disappointing seasons of his career in 2025, as he dropped out of the top 30 of the world rankings and won just two major matches all year. The Greek struggled with a back injury but hopes to have put those problems behind him for 2026.
He faces Aleksandar Vukic in round one of the Adelaide International. He began his campaign in Brisbane but lost in straight sets to Frances Tiafoe in round one. He needed to qualify for this event but managed to do so after hard-fought wins over Luca Nardi and Jacob Fearnley.
This is their second meeting, as Tsitsipas thrashed Vukic in the second-round of the Los Cabos Open two years ago. The two-time Grand Slam finalist does seem revitalised and will hope to put in another strong performance.
