Stefan Dostanic makes his ATP main draw debut in Winston-Salem. He is currently ranked 419 in the world and he has a title on the ITF Tour this season after winning in Calabasas. He has competed in quite a few Challenger Tour events this summer with the last taking place in Chicago. He got through his first-round match after Bernard Tomic retired but then had to retire himself in the second-round against Giles Hussey.
Aleksandar Vukic qualified as the top seed after wins over Luca Pow and Karl Poling in straight sets. He also got through the qualifying stages of the Cincinnati Open but lost in the first-round to Nishesh Basavareddy. His campaign in Toronto was much more encouraging as he won two main draw matches in a row, including a battling win over Cameron Norrie, to make the third-round of a Masters tournament for the first time this year.
Vukic will be a commanding favourite to come through in straight sets against the inexperienced Dostanic.
