Both these two teams are currently controlled by interim head coaches in Eamon O’Carroll and Andy Last respectively with neither able to buy a win at present. St. Helens have lost four of their last five, whilst it’s now seven defeats in a row for Hull FC, who haven’t tasted victory since beating Huddersfield Giants back in mid-June.
Despite this, players on both teams will be desperate to make a positive impact and show that they warrant playing a big role next season. One of those is exciting St. Helens winger Jacob Douglas with the 22-year-old having converted three tries in six appearances across 2026.
