Solana Sierra vs Coco Gauff prediction
Solana Sierra, who is steadily approaching the top 50 in the WTA rankings, held off a game Anna Bondar in the first round, with the Argentine eventually coming through 6-3, 5-7, 7-5 in a hugely competitive contest.
Sierra's run to the fourth round of SW19 last year remains her best showing at a Grand Slam, and it is tough to see the recently turned 22-year-old progressing that far this time around given that she runs into one of the leading lights in the women's game.
Wimbledon is statistically Coco Gauff's weakest Grand Slam, but still only 22, she still has plenty of time to master the surface. Indeed, the world number seven looked incredibly fluid in her dominant 6-2, 6-1 victory over Tamara Korpatsch in the first round.
Gauff has won her two previous meetings with Sierra, both of which came earlier this year. Given the manner in which she overcame Korpatsch in the first round, we think another straight sets win beckons for the American.
