Sohyun Park vs Robin Montgomery prediction

Sohyun Park returns to tour-level competition after receiving a wildcard for her home event in Seoul. The 24-year-old Korean was last in action at the W35 event in Erwitte, where she reached the quarter-finals before losing 6-3 6-2 to Lola Giza. Park has spent most of 2026 competing on the ITF circuit but has put together a respectable 22-16 record, including 13-7 on outdoor hard courts. Her best result came on home soil at the W35 Goyang, where she won the title by beating Rinko Matsuda in the final.

Robin Montgomery has not played since the US Open, where she lost 2-6 7-5 6-2 to Maria Sakkari in the first-round despite taking the opening set. The American has enjoyed a strong season overall, highlighted by her first WTA singles title at the Libema Open. She reached the final after an excellent grass court run before Barbora Krejcikova withdrew, handing Montgomery the title by walkover. 

Parks has the advantage of playing at home, but Montgomery is likely to be a tougher test.
