Sofia Kenin vs Peyton Stearns prediction
Sofia Kenin had an Australian Open to forget earlier in 2026. Seeded 27, the former champion was dumped out in round one by Peyton Stearns in straight sets. Fast forward to May and the two women are all set to do battle again, this time at Roland-Garros, where Kenin was a finalist back in 2020. She’ll hope that playing on the red clay surface works in her favour when taking into account how aggressive the USA star is on the baseline.
Peyton Stearns eventually made it to the third round in Australia and would love to carry that Grand Slam momentum into this one. Her pedigree at the French Open is good, having reached the third round here two times across her career so far. But last year she was dominated by German Eva Lys, winning just three games in a straight sets defeat.
Both players have reason to believe they will be successful here and obviously know each other’s playstyles extremely well, which they’ll each look to use to their advantage. With that in mind, we could see each set go deep before being decided and so backing over 22.5 games to be played appears a smart move.
Sofia Kenin vs Peyton Stearns tip: Over 22.5 total games
