Sofia Kenin vs Ekaterina Alexandrova prediction
Sofia Kenin began her season with a victory after defeating Elena Gabriela Ruse in the first-round. She made a poor start, going 4-1 down, but reeled off five games in a row to take the first set. She was broken at the end of the second but made a stunning start in the decider, going a double break up. Despite relinquishing one of those breaks, she would come through to win 6-4 4-6 6-3.
Ekaterina Alexandrova is her second-round opponent. The Russian enjoyed her best season on tour in 2025 and begins this campaign at her highest ranking of 10 in the world. She won a title in Linz and made a further three finals. Furthermore, she reached a WTA 1000 semi-final in Doha.
Alexandrova is the clear favourite, but Kenin can be a dangerous player and a tough opponent for anyone on her day. The Russian will need to start well but should be able to make it into the round-of-16.
