Sinja Kraus vs Karolina Muchova prediction

Sinja Kraus last featured in Monterrey, but she failed to make it out of qualifying after a defeat to Liang En-shou. She did manage to enter the main draw in Cincinnati, but was then beaten by 2017 US Open champion Sloane Stephens in straight sets. The Austrian is ranked 86 in the world.

Karolina Muchova makes her return to the tour in New York, having not played since her Wimbledon final loss to compatriot Linda Noskova. This was Muchova’s second Grand Slam final defeat. The 30-year-old then decided to undergo surgery, though did not disclose the exact nature or reason for the procedure. This forced her to miss WTA 1000 events in Toronto and Cincinnati. Muchova began her comeback by winning the mixed doubles title at Flushing Meadows with fellow Czech Jakub Mensik.

Muchova proved her fitness during that event, and Kraus is unlikely to cause too many problems for the world number seven.
