Fran Jones will hope to build upon her career-best win over Emma Navarro last time out.
The Brit stunned the second seed 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 to book a spot in the round of 16.
Jones will now battle Austria’s Sinja Kraus after the world number 108 defeated her compatriot Julia Grabher 6-3 6-3.
Kraus will be no pushover having impressed in qualifying and Jones will need to maintain the form that saw her pull off the shock against Navarro.
It may well go the distance but Jones looks like building on her positive 2025 and a place in the last eight is well within her grasp.
