Shuai Zhang vs Sorana Cirstea prediction

Shuai Zhang produced a fine comeback in the deciding set to get past Emma Navarro in round one of the Wuhan Open. Navarro headed into this match on the back of a strong showing in Beijing, having beaten top seed Iga Swiatek to make the last eight, and looked to have the match sewn up when she went 3-0 up in the decider. However, Zhang reeled off the last six games to win 6-2 2-6 6-3.

Sorana Cirstea is her opponent in the next round. The 35-year-old advanced from her first-round match due to Jelena Ostapenko's retirement. Cirstea was leading 6-0 2-1 when the 2017 French Open champion decided she could not continue. The Romanian has lost in the second-round of her last three events but did win the title in Cleveland two months ago.

Zhang leads the head-to-head 2-1 and 1-0 on hard court. Nevertheless, Cirstea has enjoyed the more productive season and will start as the favourite for this one.
