Shuai Zhang vs Coco Gauff prediction
Shuai Zhang won her second successive match at the Wuhan Open as she overcame Sorana Cirstea in three sets. Cirstea broke towards the end of the second set to force a decider, but Zhang reeled off five games in row to take a commanding 5-0 lead. Despite twice failing to serve the match, the Chinese player would finally clinch victory after breaking Cirstea again to win 6-4 3-6 6-4. The 36-year-old also got through to the third-round of the China Open and has found some form during this Asian swing.
Coco Gauff, last year’s finalist, will be her next opponent. The two-time Grand Slam singles champion wasted no time in her previous match as she thrashed Moyuka Uchijima 6-1 6-0 after 51 minutes. It was one of the most dominant wins for Gauff this season, as she ended the match with a first serve percentage of 85% and conceded no break points.
Gauff lead the head-to-head 3-0 and has never dropped a set to Zhang. She will be a strong favourite to come through this one comfortably.
