Shuai Zhang vs Amanda Anisimova prediction
Shuai Zhang was in fine form in the second-round of the China Open as she defeated compatriot Xinyu Wang. Zhang saved five out of seven break points and stormed ahead in the second set to win 6-4 6-2 after an hour and 24 minutes. She won 70% of her first serve points and produced a strong level on the whole, as she knocked the 31st seed out of the tournament.
She will have it tougher in the next round as she takes on two-time Grand Slam singles finalist Amanda Anisimova. The American had not featured since her final loss at the US Open but was in complete control against Katie Boulter of Great Britain. Her powerful game was too much for the Briton, as she wasn’t broken and comfortably won 6-1 6-3 after an hour and 19 minutes.
Anisimova is one of the most strongest players on the tour right now and should rightfully be seen as one of the favourites for the title. She has enough weapons to get past the challenge of Zhang.
