Sho Shimabukuro vs Miomir Kecmanovic prediction

Sho Shimabukuro competed at this home event at the Japan Open but suffered a first-round loss to Denis Shapovalov in straight sets. The 29-year-old, who is now ranked just outside the top 100, also lost his opening match in Hangzhou to Hugo Gaston. His most impressive result on the ATP Tour this season was a run from qualifying to the last eight in Stuttgart, but he has five losses from his last seven matches overall.

He will face Miomir Kecmanovic in Shanghai. The Serb is in poor form at the moment, having lost his last five matches. He began the Asian swing in Chengdu, suffering a defeat to Nikoloz Basilashvili. Kecmanovic then attempted to qualify for the China Open but lost to Adrian Mannarino in three sets.

Kecmanovic’s last victory on the tour was actually a win against Shimabukuro at the Winston-Salem Open, and he leads the overall head-to-head 2-0. Despite his poor recent results, this represents an ideal opportunity to return to winning ways.
