Sho Shimabukuro vs Miomir Kecmanovic prediction
Sho Shimabukuro enters the main draw in Dallas after wins in qualifying. The Japanese player picked up two straight set wins, as he defeated Thai Kwaitkowski and Bernard Tomic. The 28-year-old’s best result of the season so far was a semi-final appearance at the San Diego Challenger.
He goes up against Miomir Kecmanovic in round one. The Serb is struggling for form, having lost his first four matches of the season. Kecmanovic was defeated by Alexandre Muller in Hong Kong, before going on to lose to Valentin Vacherot in Adelaide. The first-round of the Australian Open saw him lose a five set epic to Tomas Martin Etcheverry, and he then lost to Pablo Carreno Busta in Montpellier despite going up a set.
Though Kecmanovic is the favourite, his recent displays have been poor, and that could provide hope for Shimabukuro, who will be aiming for a rare scalp on the ATP Tour.
