Sho Shimabukuro vs Jaime Faria prediction
Sho Shimabukuro began his grass court season in Birmingham, reaching the last eight. He then impressed at the Stuttgart Open as he advanced from qualifying to the quarter-finals. This included wins over Quentin Halys and 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios. His run ended against Ben Shelton, but he did take the first set. Shimabukuro beat Tallon Griekspoor in his first-round match at Halle, before a loss to Frances Tiafoe, with the American going on to win the event. This is his first appearance in the main draw of Wimbledon since 2023.
He will play Jaime Faria in the first-round. The Portuguese qualified for the tournament after three straight wins. This will be his second main draw appearance at the Championships. Faria’s best result on the ATP this season was a quarter-final appearance at the Rio Open.
Shimabukuro has prepared well for this tournament and will start as the favourite to reach the second-round.
