Shintaro Mochizuki vs Giulio Zeppieri prediction
Shintaro Mochizuki defeated Dominik Stricker in the final stage of qualifying to make the main draw of a Grand Slam for a fourth time and first this year. He managed to bring his strong grass court form from the Challenger Tour into the qualifying rounds. The Japanese number three reached the semi-final in Ilkley and then went all the way in Nottingham as he defeated former Grand Slam champion Marin Cilic in the final.
He will face another qualifier in Giulio Zeppieri in the first-round. The Italian did not compete in any grass court tournaments leading up to the qualifying stages. Nevertheless, Zeppieri edged a dramatic five set match with eighth seed Cristian Garin to make the main draw at Wimbledon for the very first time.
Neither player has made the second-round of Wimbledon before but Mochizuki is unbeaten in his last eight matches and should be regarded as the favourite to make it through and win his first Grand Slam match.
