This will be a fourth encounter between the pair with Fritz leading 2-1, although Korda did win their most recent clash in Canada last year, which is notably their only meeting on a hardcourt to-date.

Korda is continuing his push to rise back up the rankings following injury so the world number 74 may see this as a pressure-free opportunity to take on the USA's top dog.

That may well bring out the best in him and make this a dangerous match for Fritz.
