Sebastian Korda vs Miomir Kecmanovic prediction
Sebastian Korda ended Kamil Majchrzak’s seven match winning run with a battling victory in the round-of-16. The American dropped the first set but recovered well in sets two and three to win 6-7 6-3 6-4 after two hours and eight minutes. Korda produced a strong display on serve as he won 82% of his first serve points and wasn’t broken throughout the match. This has been a solid first tournament back for Korda, who was out for nearly three months with a shin injury.
Miomir Kecmanovic will be his opponent in the last eight. The Serb breezed through his match against Luciano Darderi, winning 6-3 6-1. Kecmanovic was broken in the first game of the match but did not face a break point after that as he wrapped up a convincing victory.
The head-to-head is locked at 1-1. Kecmanovic won their first meeting in Miami three years ago, but Korda defeated the Serb in straight sets in the semi-finals of the Adelaide International at the start of this year. Both players performed well last time out, and this could be a close encounter, but we favour Korda to squeeze through.
