Sebastian Korda vs Alex Michelsen prediction
Sebastian Korda picked up his first victory against Jiri Lehecka after the Czech was forced to retire in the second set. Korda had taken the first set 6-3 but the match was cut short as Lehecka, who won the event last year, appeared to be struggling with an ankle injury. Korda now has the opportunity to make back-to-back semi-finals, stretching back to Athens last season.
He goes up against a fellow American in Alex Michelsen. The 21-year-old continued his strong record against Learner Tien, winning in straight sets to record a third successive win against his compatriot. Michelsen was largely in control, winning 6-4 6-2 after just an hour and 15 minutes.
Michelsen will hope for a similar display, especially in terms of his clean hitting, but Korda seems to be on an upwards trajectory after struggles with injury, and he’ll be determined to make the last four in Brisbane.
