Sebastian Baez vs Luciano Darderi prediction
After a run to the semi-finals of his home Argentina Open, Baez succumbed to a 7-5, 6-1 hammering at the hands of Jaima Faria in the first round of the Rio Open. In Chile, though, Baez has managed to overcome Cristian Garin in a hard-fought clash before a resounding second set win against in-form Alejandro Tabilo to reach the final four.
Luciano Darderi comes into this one on the back of a couple of tough three-set victories against Mariano Navone and then fellow Italian, and qualifier, Andrea Pellegrino. Darderi himself has been in good form in 2026, having reached the final of that Argentina Open, albeit been beaten in the first round in Rio de Janeiro.
Darderi defeated Baez in the semi-finals in Rio with an emphatic 6-1 second set win to complete the victory but Baez has rediscovered a bit of form and so it should be a closer contest this time around.
