Sara Bejlek vs Iga Swiatek prediction
Sara Bejlek moved into the second-round of the Canadian Open after squeezing past Xinyu Wang in three sets. The Czech created 18 break point opportunities in total, winning 6-3 4-6 7-5. The 20-year-old is in good form at the moment, having advanced to back-to-back quarter-finals at the Hellenic Championships and the Prague Open respectively.
She now faces six-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek in the second-round. The Pole has not featured since her Wimbledon defence ended at the third-round stage to Alexandra Eala on Centre Court. Swiatek is still yet to even reach a final this year, and her ranking has now slipped to world number eight. She has also never won the Canadian Open.
They played each other for the first time earlier this year at Roland Garros, with Swiatek cruising to a 6-2 6-3 win. The 25-year-old will hope to rediscover her best form during this hard court swing.
