THE PREDICTION
Lyon thumped Brive 17-31 last Saturday to make it back-to-back wins across all competitions for the first time since early February. They should be able to put in a better performance on their usually impenetrable home turf than their last match here, when Toulon ran rampant in a 10-43 result, but travelling Montpellier should be able to get closer than some expect. The visitors have lost back-to-back matches across all competitions after a 22-23 thriller at home to Bordeaux last Sunday which cut their lead at the top of the Top 14 to just two ahead of this weekend’s fixtures. The play-off picture is looking perfectly set up for some serious entertainment over the next three games and despite Montpellier’s good work on the road this season it is never wise to side against Lyon at home.
